Default historical weather maps

http://www.meteo.psu.edu/~gadomski/NARR/index.html

But going to the above site, you can go back to any day since 1979 and get surface, 850mb, 700mb and 500 mb maps for every 3 hours.

The home page is http://www.meteo.psu.edu/~gadomski/ewall.html

Wink this is also great

http://docs.lib.noaa.gov/rescue/dwm/...ther_maps.html

you first need to download the browser plug in...(lizardtech) to be able to open the maps.. but then a little bit further down on the page you can open wx maps dating back to 1871 ..

this is really cool ! Try pulling up a map on just a random date... like July 19, 1900. or get the one for the day you were born.... I've spent many hours here, looking at the maps that were at the time the Edmund Fitzgerald went down & different blizzards I lived thru as a child... it's fascinating
