update.
Warm air is a coming to the rescue in South Western Iowa. Plain ol’rain heading NE. Temperatures in the low 40’s SE Nebraska and this warm air should take over much of southern Iowa by 3 PM local time. The worst icing should end in the Marshal County area by 5-7PM local time, we hope. Dyndrite |

Morning up-date.
Surface low over northern Wisconsin has ran up against a big ol’ Artic High pressure area and will occlude. Secondary low pressure will form to the south. Moisture plume over Oklahoma moves ENE. Artic Air moves SE. As it does the fine residents of Iowa may get a little snow shower activity as temps fall to the low and mid teen’s this afternoon. This energy moving out of Oklahoma will develop a secondary storm center off the coast of New England tonight. Things will go from bad to worst in the NE. Light snow in NYC this morning will change to rain. Ice Storm conditions will develop over Central Pa and SW New York state. The good news is this will change to snow tonight as the upper levels cool in response to new storm center off the coast. Now we will have Artic Air in place over NH, VT, Mass, Maine. Above normal warm water off the east coast. Hope those folks have plenty of eggs and bread. Down south we all run to the store when a big storm is coming. How many loafs will they need? I am issuing a three loaf alert for New England. This storm is going to do the gulf of Maine crawl. Heavy snow, high winds and cold. It will need a kicker to move on and it will come Tuesday. With the lake effect on the back side of the system folks in western New York state may not know when one storm ends and the other one begins. Snow develops NW North Carolina, Va, W Va mountains, Monday. Last advice for New England, pick up some hot chocolate and some reading material while you are at the store. Dyndrite |

Morning update.
Energy moving through central Pa will reenergize and deepen storm off the coast of Mass. Heavy snow with storm totals near 2ft in the high country of VT, NH, Maine. Parts of NE Main will receive up to 2 ½ feet with blowing and drifting snow. Hoped you picked up what I ask at the store. Lake effect machine gets full blown with locally 10-15 inches in isolated bands. Winds will increase as storm deepens. 60-70 MPH high country NW North Carolina, WVa, Va, Pa. Alberta clipper moves SE along Artic boundary Tuesday. 2-3 inches of snow Dakotas NE Iowa N Ill. Tuesday night and Wednesday Indiana, Ohio 2-3 inches of snow. Wednesday night and Thursday 2-4 inches NW North Carolina mountains, Wva, Northern Va. Pa, NJ and NYC. Then windy and cold. Late Thursday and early Friday new storm forms Snow Nebraska, Iowa. No ice this time. Dyndrite |

Looking at the official NOAA site it see no gale warnings for the Great Lakes. They should be. Winds 30-40 mph with gust to 60, Lake Erie and Ontario and Huron. Looks like the gales of November are coming late.

Mid day up-date
Winds gusting to 40 mph NE Michigan, western Pa and NY state. Winds still gusting to 40 mph Lake Michigan and Superior. Gust to 35 mph Pa. Over the water gust 50-60 mph. Storm intensifying off Mass. Heavy snow and wind West NY state. Get a pipe and throw another log on the fire. This is good stuff if you are a weatherman. It sucks if you are a sailor Dyndrite |

Just to let you know. I am an enlisted man, E-4. That’s not very high. For you Army types that’s a Sergeant. What I am saying is I am an uneducated nobody.,
That being said no one can forecast the weather in the US better than me, you get that meteorologist? Dyndrite |

Looks like things are developing 70 miles father east. That means snow depts. are going to be 35 percent less. That’s just me talking.
