Complicated weather pattern to say the least. If this was a kid you would say it was incorrigible.
Artic Air in place Midwest. Temps to -25F. There is some light snow developing southern Nebraska and Southern Iowa, not forecast. Freezing drizzle Kansas and Missouri Light snow is being reported N Texas West Oklahoma but nothing on the radar, maybe those boys have been in the bottle. The main storm is still in the Rockies and pieces of energy will move out and east. Timing will be the big issue. Bands of heavier precipitation will move with these little disturbances. The most significant event will be the first of the week through Thursday. As the storm moves from Texas to New England. Residents of Kansas, Missouri, Southern Iowa Then Illinois should prepare for a Major Ice Storm. Dyndrite |

Freezing rain and drizzle continues Kansas, Missouri, Illinois. Light snow Nebraska, Iowa, southern Wisconsin. Snow totals 1-3 inches.
Ice Storm warnings central and southern Missouri, Central Illinois. These will likely be extended west to include Kansas. Ice storm warnings will likely be needed for southern Iowa on Tuesday. This is not going to be a quick storm. It will be around through midweek. It will move north and effect Iowa on Tuesday. All preparations for this storm should be completed. This precipitation will be light allowing it to freeze instantly to trees and power lines with temperatures in the low 20‘s to around 30. Ice accumulation between ¼ and ½ inch is likely with higher totals in some areas. Prepare to lose power. Dyndrite |
