Sorry for the absence. The holidays require a little family time.

Hope every one across the central US and Great Lakes enjoyed the snow. The Snow Pack is impressive for mid December. With record highs across much of the country in October, this is impressive indeed.

The cold temperatures in Iowa MO, and Kansas before the snow will make the snow slow to melt. Albedo of the ground and low sun angle will allow for slow air mass moderation.

The next storm in the late Wed time frame is 500 miles apart on the Models. The GFS is trying to start a storm in Colorado on Friday, “Wonder why?

It will take a couple of days for things to settle down. As of now any forecast beyond 48 hours are wishful thinking.

Two potential storms this week.
