Let us follow the artic air south to my house in western NC. First house on the left Steve.
Winds increasing In south Dakota. 20-40 mph out of the NW. Moderate snow developing Se Iowa and NW Illinois as we speak. Warm air will try and move North but will precipitate out as snow. Snow totals 1-3 inches Se Iowa Western Ill. It should peter out about 1 mile from Steve’s house in Wisconsin. Lake enhancement should occur in SW Michigan tonight and heavy band of snow should envelops southern Michigan including Detroit. Totals of 4-6 inches. With locally 1 ft near the lake front. Winds increase 30-40 mph out of the NW. Man you got to love this. The first artic surge. To be continued Dyndrite |

Computers have trouble handling true artic intrusions. Gulf moisture lurking off SE coast of Louisiana. There will be a second wave moving SE out of Canada. The first wave should push the moisture SE. If it does not then a secondary storm could form in the SE US.
The current thinking is Moderate to Heavy snow in the Appalachians and NE. Guidance indicates Secondary low off the East coast If SE moisture from the gulf gets entwined the snow will fall South and East as 500 MB Vort Max swings east. This is too cool. Dyndrite |
