Default A Tale of Three Systems

I have not been able to find a pattern but to say this year has had it all. Epic Ice Storms, Tornadoes in Wisconsin, Blizzards in the Mid-west and warm breezes now and then. A Storm that sit of the Coast of California for a week and Plenty of Rocky mountain Snow.
Rain and a little Snow and Ice in the deep South.

This week will be the tale of three Systems Spinning out of the Rockies and Artic Air Posed in Canada.

The first System moves out of Kansas today 1-3 inches of Snow in Iowa, Eastern Nebraska and spreading into Northern Illinois tonight.

System 2 will produce 4-8 inches of Snow in the Dakotas, Minnesota, extreme NE Wisconsin. A mix to the south in Iowa, Wisconsin. Temps will rise to the low 60’s and low 70’s in areas that had snow in Illinois Missouri.

System 3 will form on the front Wednesday and spread Rain Changing to Snow in the NE and the Mountains of NC, Va. And Wva.

We will watch and see. Lot of Warm air and a lot of cold air aloft this time of year. Severe weather would be a possibility.

The third Storm on the GFS is Starting to look like Snow again in Texas, Oklahoma, N Arkansas, Mo and Ill. This will swing through New England on its way to the North Atlantic.

As of this time Snowfall on the order of 2-4 inches. Will continue to monitor.

Long range Models are Starting to Move Strong Artic High South and East next weekend. At the same time Mid level disturbance moves into West Texas and could produce Southern Storm 3. We will see if this trend Continues.

Another day another Low moving out of Colorado. A pattern for sure.

The main Change is precip in Eastern Montana. This area had been dry for most of the Winter. Artic Air or at least Modified Artic Air is in place in the Dakotas Fresh 2-4 inches of snow in Montana, North and South Dakota, Minnesota.

Sleet and Freezing Rain Iowa, Central and southern Wisconsin. Temperatures are colder than Forecast

ALERT, Storm System forming tomorrow in, you guessed, Colorado, will move ENE and may become,” Major Winter Storm.” If is the case will start Storm Thread.

Conditions are changing rapidly and this storm could deposit 4-8 inches of snow Texas, to Iowa with up to a foot in the Chicago area and Southern Wisconsin.

Stay tuned.

Warm air will be in place across the south. Temps Mid 70’s to low 80’s south Texas. Upper 60’s to low 70’s La. Mississippi Alabama. With dew points in the low to mid 60’s.

If this Storm develops and intensifies then a “Major Severe Weather out-break” in the South is possible.

The current thinking is North central Texas, Arkansaw, southern Ill. and Southern Indiana. Strong thunderstorms and strait line winds seem to be the greatest threat with isolated tornadoes.

Conditions could change rapidly as this is a developing storm.

Mid to long range Models depict Artic surge moving south and East behind System Three. Temps falling to below Zero Midwest and North East and Teens in the Mid-Atlantic this Weekend and First of next week.

New Storm forms, you guessed it Colorado. Looks like more snow for the mid-west. Ice in the North east.

Hope you guys like to shovel snow in Mid-west....
