Martin is trying to talk to me and I am trying to talk to him. I am a strange bird folks. That is reality
Martin is trying to cool me down. Scientist are a strange lot. Not many people can put them in a box. I apologize If I get crazy. that’s just how we are. Please forgive and look at the forecast. Dyndrite |

A scientific weather forecaster ? Thats an interesting combo. He does pinpoint the forecasts fairly well though. I'll give him that. |

Im starting to think the changeover to freezing rain and sleet will be delayed from interior northern and central new jersey. The cold air is hanging really tough. Even at 5000 feet. Still snow being reported at Trenton. Model temps are still too warm. Most models have -6 Celsius as my current temp. Well its -10 Celsius right now... Although I am 2000 feet up. 13.8 degrees Fahrenheit right now and moderate snow coming down. Im thinking about using the snow blower before the freezing rain starts comes down. Or will it be all sleet ? Still a tough call. |

Residents in the Southeast should prepare for Major Winter Storm.
Can you offer some geography? I know it won't be down here obviously (Gainesville, FL), but am interested in relative location. Also, do you think after Sunday going into the 19th thru 24th period, we'll see some SE cold as some of the models suggest? Thanks! Last edited by pcbjr; 02-12-2008 at 08:31 PM. |

pcbjr,
Welcome aboard. Now that I know I have a Gainesville audience I will try and include significant weather. Some time I get a little musical but just over look the u-tube post. Latest Computer Data shows Storm moving NNE out of the Gulf Saturday night after Artic High moves off the East Coast. This would allow for low and mid-level warming and no winter weather threat in the South East.. Sometimes I think I want the big one. As a weather type we all live for the big storm. don’t ask me why. I think some people are just wired one way or another. Bankers like money, carpenters like wood and only crazy people chase tornados. Nostalgia is a danger. Sometimes we forget that of all the snow flakes that fall no two are alike, no two Storms are alike. The presidents day Storm was a sight to see and the weather in western North Carolina is no help today. The day before that Storm I landed at the Greensboro/High point/Winston-Salem airport. It was 62 degrees with patches of snow along the dense tree lines. That is the situation today. As you know residents of Western NC received 1-4 inches of Snow Wednesday night. As far as I know I am the only one in the country that saw that coming. I will admit I didn’t see that much but I saw the Scenario, give the dog a bone. The Up-State South Carolina Low. You will not find it in any meteorological manuals but I know it exist. I have seen it about 10 times. So hear we sit. 55 degrees with a high of 62 forecast. Patches of Snow along the tree lines, Artic air Bleeding South. Active sub-tropical jet. The computer models are focusing on that Vorticity Max along the Mexico Arizona border and everything is based on that. We shall see. Overrunning Freezing rain and Snow developing in Texas. Thunderstorms developing over southern Louisiana, not forecast by any model. I was not privy to all the data as to the development of that great Storm. Could it have been a South Carolina Low. We will see. You guys don’t need to wonder what Dyndrite will be doing this afternoon. Dyndrite Last edited by dyndrite; 02-15-2008 at 11:31 AM. |
