Potential storm
The Gulf low is still there on the models 3 days later. 6-12 inches of snow from Georgia, to the Carolinas late next week. Low pressure forms in the gulf on Thursday. Stay tuned. Talking about last call. Dyndrite |

The 06z run shows the storm staying well south of us and moving off the coast. Do you think like Steve has been saying that every thing will end up coming back west in latter runs that brings us a big snowstorm??

Old Wisconsin weatherman rule-001- They never stay south, sorry folks.
A pattern for sure plus the Canadian, Euro and NAM have it as well, further north. The GFS is blinking on and off and has been for three days. Bottom line is cold air heads south as mid level trof swings east. Surface low in gulf and weak clipper in Mississippi Valley. Looks like a duck to me. We will see. Dyndrite |

Up date
Gulf low looking like it will form in the gulf late Thursday as scheduled. Models are in disagreement after 48 hrs on path. But hey, 24 hrs ago it was not there, then it was, then it wasn’t and now it is. For sure Southern Snow Storm moving out of the gulf. Could develop into Nor’easter. Dispatch Mike Sidel to Beckley West by God Virginia and send the other guy to Buffalo. Everyone else has got to wait and see. I would post Heavy Snow Warnings for those areas Lots of snow in Arkansas, North Mississippi and Alabama. The jury is still out on NC, SC and VA. Need For that High to settle down. The poor GFS has gone nuts. Appalachian Storm for sure Dyndrite |

Just looked at the ETA and it is 150 miles SW with the 850 MB low from 00Z last night.
GFS is in the same location but a broad cut off 850 mb low. The bottom line is this storm will generate its own cold air in the north and western quadrants. The path will dictate who gets what. We will know in 24 hours. Dyndrite |
