Temps will fall rapidly this AM in Upstate SC. Rain showers will become mixed with and change to snow showers. Cant rule out a rumble of thunder in heavier bands as mid -level low moves south of Greenville-Spartanburg around 1-2 pm

Current Water vapor imagery shows Storm 50 miles south, yes I said South of Atlanta Ga.

Sunshine over Western Carolinas will provide instability for showers this afternoon. Winds could gust to 50 mph during max heating in that warm March sunshine.

Moderate to heavy snow squalls have developed in the high country of NC, expect 2-4 inches.

Convection from thunderstorms related to gulf feature I pointed out yesterday off the coast of NC. Moisture will move North west, yes I said Northwest, into Pennsylvania and Western NY State. Expect moderate to heavy snow with thunder in Pittsburg by noon. Winds increase to 30-35 mph temps fall to 20F. Snow and blowing snow with 5-10 inches, drifts 1-2 ft.

Up-date

Showers could mix with snow or ice pellets over Columbia SC. Currently snow as far south as Macon Ga. and fort Benning Alabama.

Latest satellite and radar data shows secondary low pressure developing over central Ga. This storm has several surface low pressure centers from western PA to central Ga.

Artic air over the upper mid-west with lows of -27 yesterday has been incorporated into the storm on the west and southwest side and aloft over the occlusion. As the cold air aloft moves east of the Appalachians convective showers will develop over central SC and NC.

People that saw temps in the 70’s may see a mix this afternoon. Yaw got to love March.

Alert.

South Carolina low developing. Moderate Precipitation developing SW NC. Watch it unfold folks. I told you about it now you can watch it.

Every storm is different. This is my first clue. Being a weatherman I will call all to see. I hope I don’t look like an idiot.
