Thank you. :)
Ask Aaron, or Quin. They should be able to give you a number off of their own ephemeris. The cost is between $18-25 bucks depending on where you buy it from.

About how I expected. Working on longer-range forecasts for 2008-2010 - very interesting climate for the world, and for North America.

For this season, at least for the east, the "weenies" as they like to call themselves, will have a post New Years' Eve winter storm that should quiet the ones that haven't received snow yet in the east. I'm quite concerned about the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes, with the transits just ahead. Another windstorm is on the way for that part of the country, plus the precipitation ~ will be quite messy starting about Dec. 31, and continuing into the east through January 6.

Default Early winter ahead 2007/08

The Pacific Northwest has been showing signs of an early winter for the last month. Four weeks ago I walked out into my garden at 6.00 am and found ICE all over the leaves of my tomato plants. Several times this last week over the course of several consequtive days there was both ice on the windshield and in the garden. We usually do not get any frost until the first full moon of October at least in my garden, but it came early last year as well and I got frost in the first full moon of September. This time it came in at the end of July. Wondering if this is a particular trend due to previous planetary alignments that have per chance pulled us slightly out of our normal orbit around the sun, as we appear to be entering our seasons slightly faster than normal.

Default Storm passing through in September ???

Hi there,

I'm not one to randomly look up websites and participate in forums unless I have a real interest. Right now, I'm very concerned.

There's a storm passing through Northern California right now. It's bring quite a bit of WIND to San Francisco, but the heavy rain is about 90 miles east of us and traveling south, apparently coming from British Columbia in Canada.

There are so many things wrong with this storm:
1. This storm is WAY early! I'm 35, and have grown up on the Central Coast of CA all my life. I don't ever recall seeing a storm arrive in mid September. Our usual start to the rain is in mid October, give or take a couple weeks.

2. This storm is traveling south, from all accounts. It's extremely unusual for a storm to track directly south from british columbia. The vast vast majority of our storms cross Northern California in an easterly direction (heading south).

3. The rain making clouds are primarily riding the top of the storm. This storm - the rainclouds are dominantly in a northern area of the low pressure system, which, for the west coast, is highly unusual. Most of the time the rain making clouds are dominantly on the eastern side of the low pressure system.

When watching the satellite animation of this storm heading directly south, it feels intrinsically wrong to all the other satellite animations I've watched and studied in my life of storms crossing the west coast. This storm is just wrong. It really breaks the known patterns of west coast storms.

Am I the only one who feels a little shocked by the appearance of this storm and its behavior?

Concerned in San Francisco

Los Angeles Times: Southland feels chill of early storm

Southland feels chill of early storm
By Ari Bloomekatz
Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

3:17 PM PDT, September 19, 2007

Cooler weather and high winds moved into Southern California today in advance of a storm that could bring snow to the mountains and the first rain to Los Angeles in about 150 days.

Meteorologists said the unstable weather system coming from British Columbia was the Southland's first winter storm, arriving months ahead of schedule and sending temperatures eight to 15 degrees below normal.

In downtown Los Angeles, where the average high during the month of September is 83 degrees, the temperature was 71 at 2 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

A wind advisory was issued today for the Antelope Valley, where gusts of up to 50 miles per hour were expected to kick up dust and sand and reduce visibility through the evening.

"The storm is pretty unusual. It's pretty much our first winter storm of the season and it's barely fall," said weather service meteorologist Edan Lindaman. "Typically, we don't see storms like this until into early April."

Fall begins Friday.

The storm, which is over Oregon and slowly moving south, will stop over the central coast for 12 to 18 hours before it continues toward Southern California.

Lindaman said the front was preceded by a deep marine layer that could create widespread drizzle late tonight and Thursday.

She said Friday would be the most active day of the storm in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties, when showers are expected to produce one-half to 1 inch of rain.

The last measurable rain was April 22, Lindaman said.

No doubt it is an unseasonably cold and strong system. Weather has its extremes and that is why it never ceases to amaze me. But why are you "very concerned."
